theyachtskipper.com has arranged some weekend dates for early 2017 with our friends at Four Seasons Yacht Charter who are based in Gosport. We would like you to come and share them with us!

What’s it all about?
These weekend sails have been devised to fill the demand that we know is out there for a fun weekend on the water without the complications and cost of going through an established sea school or of a yacht charter.
We also think that you folks want to go sailing but don’t have a large network of sailing friends or contacts who might facilitate this. The great thing here is that we will do all the organising and bring along like-minded crew mates so that all you have to do is to turn up with a positive outlook – whatever the weather prospects might be!
Who’s it for?
You may have done yachting courses such as Competent Crew or Day Skipper and want to get out there and do a bit more sailing. On the other hand you may have heard lots of exciting things about yachting and want to give it a go in a relaxed way before you commit to doing more formal training.
The pre-season dates have been specifically picked out in order for participants to get a blast of sailing before the busy summer months come by – or to allow you to make your mind up whether you want to commit to further sailing in the months ahead.

The full cost for the weekend (Saturday 0900 to Sunday 1600) is £249. If you book and a £50 deposit is received before the end of 2016 the price is just £229.
Please note that sailing is a social activity in a boat of limited size and that the price above therefore does not presume single occupancy of a cabin. If you would prefer to guarantee a cabin on your own please contact us to discuss the cost of the weekend to you.
The price for the weekend includes the following:
- the use of suitable foul weather if you don’t have your own
- lunch and evening dinner with wine on board
- all mooring costs
- fuel costs.
A likely programme for the weekend would be:

| 1600 | Arrive at overnight berth – Cowes/ Lymington/ Yarmouth or elsewhere |
| 1700 | Time to explore and relax |
| 1930 | Dinner on board (with wine) – rest of evening available for suitable entertainments! |
| Sun 0830 | Breakfast on board |
| 0930 | Leave berth for Solent |
| 1245 | Lunch at anchor or on passage |
| 1600 | Arrive back in Gosport |
| 1630 | Depart |
Our early season weekend sails will start and finish at Haslar Marina, Gosport (see map below.)
By train, you should aim for Portsmouth Harbour station and then take the Gosport ferry across to Gosport. The ferry terminal on the Portsmouth side is adjacent to the Harbour station and on the Gosport side is a very short walk from the marina.
If you are travelling by car Gosport is about a 20 minute drive from the M27. There is parking at the marina – mention Four Seasons Yacht charter on arrival. You can find directions to Haslar Marina from the Google map below.

All bookings will only be confirmed when a £50 deposit is received. Full payment must be received 4 weeks prior to the weekend. Please be aware that if you cancel the booking your monies will only be refunded (minus £50 deposit) if another participant can be found to fill your place. If you cancel within 48 hours of the start of the weekend no monies will be returned. It would be a good idea to take out insurance to cover unforeseen eventualities.
