Turkey sailing holiday 2024
Just two spaces remaining! That’s one double cabin. Get in touch urgently to book it.
Subsequent to our hugely successful sailing holiday in Croatia last summer, we are planning another multi boat trip, this time in Turkey. This will be perfect for individuals and small groups who want to enjoy the sunshine and get to grips with a modern sailing yacht, and who also might want to mingle with a larger group.
The plan
The Turkey sailing holiday 2024 will involve investigating the stunning Turkish coast in style aboard a large sailing yacht. We are joining with at least one other yacht from Sailscape (London Sailing meetup). Staying in a different beautiful bay or small harbour each night, there will be time to explore and enjoy the local culture and cuisine. We will start from Orhaniye, Mugla, Turkey and visit a number of bays/towns including Kocabahce, Bozuk Buku and Bozburun throughout the week.
Price: £880/ head, which includes the yacht charter and food & drink during the day.
The cruising area
The starting and finish point for the week is Orhaniye, a 1.5 hour transfer from Dalaman Airport.
The Datça peninsular takes us westward as if towards Kos, and the Bozburun peninsular also offers numerous bays and small harbours. Sailing in Turkey is not an island hopping experience as in Greece and Croatia, but has a less developed and touristy feel in its favour. The warm Turkish welcome is justifiably famous.
There will be an emphasis on sailing during the day, allowing for the occasional swim stop. At night we might be moored up in an interesting harbour or at anchor in a lovely cove.
What’s the deal
We have secured a 46′ Beneteau yacht of 2023 vintage which has 5 cabins (4 heads) and can sleep up to 12. However, there are only 8 places available on this yacht, and we expect to fill these quickly. Cabins are shared – unless you are willing to book both berths – but there will be plenty of space on board and on deck.
What’s included in the price: shared cabin, all charter fees, fuel & mooring costs, linen, day time food and drinks.
What’s not included: flights to/ from Dalaman, transfers, insurance, evening meals ashore.
